FBI Moneypak

My computer got hit by this virus thing yesterday. Except when I looked it up online, I was told that no, it wasn't some virus but instead was malware.

What's the difference?

Well, actually, viruses will delete your information. Malware doesn't. But that's beside the point.

The point is that it basically locked the computer - and you couldn't do anything. The start menu disappeared. The desktop disappeared. It was just a full screen view of a notice.

And what exactly did this full screen say?

Well, it basically said that it was the FBI and they had detected you illegally downloading music, movies, videos, etc. on your computer. (Sometimes, they claim that you've been watching illegal porn.) And then they say that if, within fourty-eight hours, you haven't paid this outrageous fine of $200 by buying this instant credit card called Moneypak, then you will be jailed.

Yeah, right.

My mom actually believed it, though, and got mad at me for illegally downloading stuff. And then wanted to get to the nearest Walmart to buy the credit card thingy.

But I found it suspicious. And by doing a quick google search, I found my suspicions confirmed - this indeed was a scam. A VERY WELL placed scam that made sure my computer was unusable.

And it only took me ten hours to fix it. (NOT EXAGGERATING THERE)

So yep.

My very exciting life.

Clothing... or the Lack Thereof

I'm a high school student. I go to school to learn, NOT to see people's various body parts hanging out.

Nowadays, clothes seem to be like an accessory - encouraged but not necessary.

Um. NO.

Let me list the types of clothes that are COMPLETELY and UTTERLY inappropriate for school. (Really, I don't mean to offend anyone. If you're fashion style means showing as much as possible of your body, kudos for your self-confidence. But please? Show it elsewhere. Preferably when I'm far away. Far FAR away.)

1. See-through shirts: Somehow, this seems to be so cool right now. You know, those blouses that are so sheer you can see people's bras underneath? Just because you happen to be wearing a "bandeau" whatever that means, does not mean that you can wear a see-through skirt. I don't want to see your body -  leave that for your boyfriend.

2. Lace: Lace is awesome, and it can be classy. However, when you're wearing a full-on lace shirt thing with NO TANK TOP UNDERNEATH, there's a problem. Once again, too much skin. WAY too much skin. And the look isn't that cute anyways.

3. Daisy dukes: What's so nice about them? Your butt seems to be falling out... And I'm pretty sure the amount of money you spend on that teeny scrap of jean isn't even worth the ugly butt marks you get whenever you sit on something with a pattern.

4. Dresses: There are day dresses that are pretty and conservative and easy on the eyes. (My eyes, to specific.) There are also dresses made SOLEY for the nightclub. You know, the clingy type that shows off your curves, cleavage, legs, and just about everything else? Leave those for the night club. They don't belong restrained in a school desk.

Who knows, I might be the only person in the world who doesn't find these things attractive. But that's my opinion, and here it is for you.

Democracy - really?

Alright, I was originally planning on a politics rant later... but today, something made me SUPER angry, and thus decided to write one today.
*Note: Politics is something I find super interesting, mostly people's responses, so don't be surprised if a lot of the things I talk about somehow go back to politics.

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/09/20/13989510-empty-chair-lynchings-anti-obama-protests-gone-too-far?lite

Here is a link of an article I read today. If you are too lazy to read it, I'll give you a summary.

Basically, there have been some extreme Republicans in Texas who have thought of a new, "great" way of showing their support of Romney. And how do they plan on going to support Romney? Basically, what they're doing is hanging chairs with American flags (or a NOBAMA poster in one case) from trees or porches. Basically, it's a metaphor for lynching the president.

So, you might be wondering how we got from empty chairs to lynching our first African-American president. Well, here's a history lesson.

In the 1950s, when segregation was still a HUGE deal and the black population was severely oppressed, there were many extreme whites (many in the south) who hung blacks from trees. This was a way to express their opinion of the black population. This practice was called lynching. Now, you know that part of the story.

But, why do we associate the empty chair with President Obama?

That, my friends is because at the Republican National Convention in Florida this year, one speaker was Clint Eastwood. He thought it would be funny to stand there and give his speech to a chair. The chair was dubbed as the "invisible Obama."

Now do you understand why hanging a chair is associated with lynching Obama, which in a historical context, goes back to the practice of lynching blacks.

--
Now for my rant.

I DO NOT GET HOW THIS IS ACCEPTABLE IN ANY MANNER. It makes me extremely disgusted, AND very embarrassed to be even living in America. I may not be an American citizen, and such acts make me see why I wouldn't want to be. I'm not saying that there aren't good Americans out there, because I know there are and that the good outnumber the bad.

However, these actions are simply inconceivable and horrendous. I don't care what political party you're supporting - because truly that doesn't matter for me. You're entitled to your own opinions. However, you ARE NOT entitled to advertise your political beliefs by making indirect threats to the current president. Especially if they are racially-sensitive threats.

Dislike Obama for all I care. But please show it in an appropriate manner that does not hit deeper than his race. If you don't vote for him, give REASONS why he doesn't deserve the position. SUPPORT your own candidate, don't PUT DOWN the other.

This is why the United States has a bad stigma in many countries. This is why many of my relatives consider Americans the devils. This is why I have no faith in the U.S. future.

However, there are good people out there. :) I have nothing against you'all. Keep up what you're doing, and maybe one day we'll be able to counteract all the terrible things people do.

That is all.

If you read all of it, I appreciate that.

Sparks Can't Fly

Sparks Can't Fly.

NOTE: This will most likely be the ONLY insightful post on this blog.

Life is all about choices. People tell you there is no wrong and right, but there are. Some choices are obvious, some are not. Some are significant, some are not. Some affect others, some do not. Some are reversible, some are not.

They all share one thing in common:
All choices are yours to make. You can make two worlds collide together. It may seem impossible, but because of you, sparks can fly.

Think about your choices. Make those choices. Even if is isn't the right one, don't look back.

---------

Alright. What is this blog about?

Everything, anything, nothing.

Life is hectic, life is about choices, whatever. The most important thing, life is about you. Be selfish for once. (Not too selfish, though.)

You may be offended by what I post. You may agree with my opinions. You man be completely disgusted by me as a blogger.

These are my most inner feelings. And through the security blanket of anonymity online, I can say anything and everything.

And I will.

Be prepared to be bombarded. Between you and me? Sparks will fly.
